Lunch Club
We operate a supervised lunch club where children aged over 3 years can bring their own packed lunch and stay from 12:00 - 12:55pm each afternoon.
Lunch boxes are stored in the pre-schools fridges. Our policy is to encourage healthy eating habits and would ask that sweets are not included in children's lunch boxes. Please ensure that lunch boxes are clearly labelled with your child's name and are cleaned regularly.

Please note that an additional charge is made for this and current details are available on request.

Health & Hygiene

Illness
Please do not send your child to the pre-school when they are ill and allow 48 hours after sickness or a stomach upset.  If medicines are required by your child ensure that they are clearly labelled with full details of how the medicine is to be administered.  Please ensure that emergency contact details are given to the pre-school and that staff are kept informed of any changes to these details. If your child is off sick please phone the pre-school to let us know. If possible please contact the pre-school to inform staff of prolonged absence (including absence for holiday arrangements).

Medication
With regards to the administration of life saving medication, such as insulin or adrenaline or the use of nebulisers, the position will have to be clarified with reference to the preschool company insurance. The administration of other medication, e.g. inhalers will require a medical consent to be filled in on a daily basis and staff provided with full details on the administration of such medication.
First Aid kits are stored and replenished correctly within the preschool and staff members are appropriately trained.

Hygiene
To prevent the spread of infection, staff will ensure that the following good practices are observed:
  • Adults will wash their hands before preparing food.
  • Adults will wear disposable gloves and aprons when preparing food.
  • Paper towels will be used by children and adults to dry hands.
  • Tissues are supplied to encourage children to blow and wipe their own noses.
  • Children are encouraged to cover their mouths when coughing and sneezing.
  • All staff to follow hygiene rules when dealing with any incidents.
  • All tables are cleaned with anti bacterial spray before and after use.
